Engineering and Public Works Open House

Took the kids out to the Engineering and Public Works Open House. Various public works departments such as the Recycling, Landscaping, Fire department, RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police), Roads and Construction, Water Services, Drainage and Sewerage, Engineering and Planning, Parks and Recreation etc. had set up interactive booths. They gave out
informational brochures and had creative and fun activities for the kids.

Painting her Bird House
One of the craft activities for the kids was making a bird house. Watching all the parents working diligently and hammering away their wooden pieces to give shape to their bird houses was a sight to watch. I joined in the fun and made my first bird house ever. If it wasn't for the kids, I would never have thought of doing it. Just like all the other kids, Aaliyah enjoyed giving the bird house the finishing touches by painting it. Once we set it out to dry, we went on to explore the other booths.
Face Painting
Aaliyah got hearts painted on the back of her hand and Ayaan got a bumble bee on his cheek. He was very patient through out the face painting process.
